As discussed in my last post, Same Life New Site, I've recently discovered my affinity for writing a journal and through that tools that I'm learning which will better help me keep up this new website

I have two sites that I am starting to maintain:

Each one serves a different purpose. This one, coates.life will be my landing page for all things personal. I'll use this site to post my personal musings, recipes, book/movie reviews, journal/personal knowledge management techniques, and other personal thoughts.

On the other hand, bladecoates.com, will be my landing page for all things not personal. I'll use this site to post technical issues/solutions, personal knowledge management techniques regarding work and other technical musings. It will be the home of my professional resume and be linked to my professional profiles.

Realistically, I could put all content on one site and call it day. For most people it would easier to manage if they were using software like wordpress or another blogging platform. With me being able to keep all my blog content in my Obsidian vault, both sites are built automatically via Zola and Netlify when I perform a git commit. This makes it simple for me to manage everything and turn any notes/musings in my personal knowledge management database in to a blog post.

I'll have a blog post coming soon on bladecoates.com which details the process of using Obsidian, Zola, Git and Netlify to publish and manage your site.

Stay tuned...
